Happy Halloween from ACITM!

As you can see from the picture above, Maggie and I both decided to go with music themed costumes this year. She was Katy Perry and I was 2 Chainz. If you still need some ideas for costumes, check out this post featuring 5 DIY costumes. For Halloween, we have three sets of mixes for you guys, from Diplo, RL Grime and Black Lips. Check them out below! Have a Happy Halloween! If you dress up as anything relatively music related, post a picture on our wall and we’ll get you guys an ACITM shirt!

Week that Was (9-13-12 to 9-19-12)

My browser has been running slow all week because of all the songs I kept open after hearing to remember to post them here. So I’m taking a hit in the facebook creeping/online trolling department to keep bringing you good music. It better be appreciated!  A lot of cool stuff coming in this week, thank you to everyone that’s been sending. Keep it up! We’ll be debuting a new weekly feature on the blog, with rising artists creating a playlist and answering some fun questions. Stay tuned, and let us know what you think of the  week that was!

Week that Was (9-6-12 to 9-12-12)

This week’s “Week that Was” features a 90 degree turn for Danny Brown (not the whole 180) that’s actually enjoyable, a London remixer that’s yet to release anything bad, and 2 pairs of duos that just released albums available for free download (Odesza and Alpines). As always, continue to send us your music for a chance to be featured here next week! Enjoy!

Navigate your way easily through the site just by going straight to what you want to read; but no worries, the old school blog roll of all the posts will still be our home page.

Anyways, this week that was is probably my favorite of the summer so far. Keep sending music our way, and enjoy!

Week that Was (8-2-12 to 8-8-12)

Lollapalooza has left the city and summer is slowly winding down. September is a huge month for album releases so I guess that isn’t too much of a bad thing. As always keep sending music our way, we love hearing what are readers are creating/listening to. Enjoy!

Week that Was (7-19-12 to 7-25-12)

The homie Michael Dejaneiro dropped the video for “SummertimeChi” today, and it’s right on cue considering all the senseless violence happening around Chicago lately. Make sure to check out the video below, but more so make sure to listen to the lyrics. #inrodwelust. New music from Kids These Days (their new album is going to be insane), Crystal Castles, sbtrkt, and others round out the rest of the Week that Was, which features 11 songs for the first time ever. As always, keep sending us music! 4/10 songs featured today were either user or artist submitted. Enjoy and spread the word!

As we prepare for Pitchfork 2012, the weather has finally given Chicago a break and it is finally bearable to stand outside for longer than 43 seconds. Enjoy the music from this week, let us know what we missed, what you’d like to see more of, or just if you liked any of the tracks! We’re doing it big… 11 tracks for the first time ever.

Week that Was (6-28-12 to 7-5-12)

We’re a day late on this one, but hopefully everyones 4th celebrations were amazing. The summer has been bringing out banger after banger, and this week was no different with my current favorite song “New God Flow” dropping by Chicago’s very own Kanye. That’s the stuff you definitely heard… but as for what you should also be listening to…
