The #ASOSRocks VIP after-party at the Hard Rock Hotel was the place to be Friday night after Lollapalooza. With a line stretching down Michigan avenue and scheduled performances by Emeli Sandé and St. Lucia, those who managed a spot on the guest list for this intimate event were not ready for the long Lolla day to end just yet.

Emeli Sandé @ Lincoln Hall 1/22

Emeli Sandé, the 25-year-old talented artist from London, played Tuesday to a sold out Lincoln Hall crowd. Sandé is already a huge artist in the UK, performing in both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics, and selling more copies of her album Our Version of Events than any other artist in 2012 in the UK. With honest lyrics, a gospel-infused sound and a pure vocal range, Sandé wowed her audience Tuesday night. If you haven’t listened to this girl yet, make sure you find her on Spotify ASAP. Check out photos from the show after the jump!

Songs from Abroad Vol. 1

sfa acitm

Have no fear though, Songs from Abroad will be a giant foreign music post coming up on the site every once in a while, featuring only tracks I discover out here and not from a US based artist.

AlunaGeorge “Watching Over You”

I’d be lying if I said AlunaGeorge wasn’t my favorite group currently making music. Yes, they probably surpassed The xx for the time being. Here’s their new track, “Watching Over You,” from the Annie Mac Presents 2012 compilation that dropped October 8th. I’d recommend buying/downloading (I don’t judge) that, featuring songs from Drake, Azealia Banks, M83, TNGHT, Jessie Ware, Diplo, Hot Chip, Nas, Frank Ocean, and A$AP Rocky, with many of them remixed.

Rudimental feat. John Newman and Alex Clare “Not Giving In”

Oh boy, Rudimental has done it again. They already took over the UK radio waves with “Feel the Love,” and this time their track “Not Giving In” has world wide potential. Dance floors prepare. Take a listen below and let us know what you think. I for one, can’t stop playing this one.
