Pusha T – Wrath of Caine (Mixtape w/ Download)

The long awaited Wrath of Caine is finally here. G.O.O.D. Music’s Scottie Pippen brings fans an 11 track mixtape, with Pusha getting help from Rick Ross, Wale, French Montana and more. You knew the production was going to be on point, it is, and the fire in Pusha’s raps really set the bar high for his upcoming album, My Name is My Name.  Here’s what he has to say about the mixtape…

When I drop music, I aim to make u muthafuckas cry!! My true fans/family know I strive for perfection. If Def Jam is waiting on my album, what the fuck makes u think u aint gonna wait on this mixtape? It’s like when a women/man is a virgin, if u love that bitch/nigga U WILL WAIT!!

Pusha T “Blocka” feat. Popcaan, Travis Scott

Pusha drops the first joint from his forthcoming Wrath of Caine mixtape, and when it’s produced by Young Chop, it’s probably going to be dope. Check it out below. It’s got a nice reggae inspired beat, highlight Pusha’s aggressive rhyming.

Week that Was (11-22-12 to 11-28-12)

If you’ve noticed more tracks featured on the week that was, one, you’re welcome, and two, it’s because more and more music is pouring in through our email. This week we have 12 fresh tracks, with 3 headlining artists on top of it. Brooklyn based Railbird leads us off, with a psych pop experimental sound that’s gotten them on tour with Reptar and Rubblebucket. Cash Cash is next, and the wait for a track as fun to dance to as Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E.” may finally be here. If “Overtime” doesn’t at least get your foot tapping or shoulder popping, let me know and I’ll send you a sticker. Rounding out the Week that Was headliners is another Brooklyn band, Great Caeser. Often referred to as “the OutKast of Brooklyn Indie Rock,” you better expect great things. Enjoy! Keep sending music to acityinthemidwest [@] gmail.com.

G.O.O.D. Music Made In America 2012 Performance

Jay-Z’s Made in America festival ended last night with a bang, with Hova bringing out Throne partner Kanye West and the rest of the G.O.O.D. Music crew. If you missed it, press play to to hear the crew run through “Mercy,” “I Don’t Like (Remix),” and a bunch more. The things I would have done to have been at this festival….

I think it’s safe to say hip hop has officially risen.

And paging Young Money…. you guys there?

ACITM’s Top 21 Kanye West Features

I’ve been wanting to do this for months and I finally found the time to scientifically break down every single aspect of Mr. Kanye West’s music. Actually, after hearing Ye’s verse on “Birthday Song” I started to get sentimental about how far we’ve seen Chicago’s very own come. He was Common’s guy, Jay-Z’s guy, then blew up the hip hop world with College Dropout. From there we saw Late Registration, Graduation, a switch up with 808’s and Heartbreaks, one of the best rap albums of our generation in My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and the debut from hip hop mega powers Jay and Ye in Watch the Throne. He’s always maniacally dedicated himself to his own releases, and his genius has been responsible for G.O.O.D. Music taking over the game in recent months.

Without further ado, here are the 21 best songs that were not officially Kanye’s, that he ended up owning with a killer feature anyway. If you’re interested in downloading the feature, all 21 songs, head on over to our facebook page and be one of the first 50 to comment on the post. A surprise will then appear in your inbox (only if you already like our page!). Enjoy! Continue reading
