A huge storm chased out concert goers from Union Park on Friday, but they came rushing back in a few hours later, eager to kick off North Coast weekend. With performances by artists such as Nas, Afrojack, Mac Miller and Wu-Tang, the 3-day festival is traditionally a goodbye to summer. AlunaGeorge made her debut in Chicago, the always smooth Gary Clark Jr showed off his electric guitar mastery, and Purity Ring put on an awesome light show, with front woman Megan Jame’s white dress becoming a rainbow of florescent colors throughout the performance. Most disappointing was Passion Pit, though, who was forced to do a DJ set after Friday’s storm made their equipment unusable.
Check out our photos below and let us know your favorite performances of the weekend!

First Danny Brown now Soulja Boy. Yes. This did actually happen. And while it may be pretty weird… the song sounds pretty…. good? We’re going with that for now. Take a listen below and let us know what you think.
One of our favorite new duos sure to make a splash in music this year is AlunaGeorge. Aluna Francis and George Reid, both from London, feature hard snapping beats similar to Purity Ring and have that same vocal dynamic that makes the xx great. Listen to “Your Drums, Your Love” below, and let us know if you’re feelin’ it.
