Ontario native Alex Flemming, aka Black Atlass, first burst onto the scene about 11 months ago with his masterpiece The Black Atlass EP. Featuring 6 songs spanning roughly 18 minutes, Flemming displays his production versatility with a mix of sample heavy bangers and synth laid piano wails that will upset you when you learn he’s most likely younger than you. Week that Was (2-21-13 to 2-27-13)

More hip-hop than you usually see on the “Week that Was,” thanks to some strong features from Chance the Rapper, Action Bronson, and Kendrick Lamar. AlunaGeorge keeps cranking out awesome tracks, really setting themselves apart from the rest of the music world. I am dying to see that duo live. Make sure to check out more of Hundred Waters and Ghost Loft if you get some time, the remixes here don’t completely do the bands justice. Expect big things from them. Keep sending new music! We really appreciate it, and love hearing new things. Enjoy!

On display at the intimate gallery was MałgośKa’s photo exhibit entitled “Absences…” in collaboration with LISA SAYS. The work, with an air of eeriness, showcased photographs of objects in low light. I enjoyed the exhibit and was lucky to catch up with the talented young artist Malgoska during the opening night of her showing.
