Kami de Chukwu and Joey Purps actually released something for real today, this is not another April Fool’s akin to Demarcus Cousins releasing a mixtape or Google giving out jobs to America’s top Pokemon masters. “Bleed” sets the tone from the start, and the whole mixtape live up to the lead track. Beats have a very dark, Flatbush Zombies feel to them. Kami has long been an ACITM favorite, and this new duo with Joey Purps is heading in the right direction. Highlight is track 4, “Nightmare on Chicago Ave.” Check out the whole thing and let us know what you think.
Sir & Madame debuted PF Flyers new collection at their Hyde Park store Friday and kicked off the weekend in style. DJ Jay Illa spun some Kanye West and Heineken had beer on hand while attendees mingled with Stack Aly and Ouigi of the Brooklyn Circus. We were there as well, always supporting our favorite Chicago power couple – Autumn and Brian Merritt. Check out photos from the event below, Ouigi Theodore talking about PF Flyers, and shop Sir & Madame here.

The long awaited track is here. Chance x Biebz. AND it’s actually pretty smooth. Make that real smooth. Chance jumps on the verse towards the end of the song and destroys the track… guess we finally know where that “ooo-woooo” mating like call came from during Chance’s Chicago show last week. Stream it below! Let us know what you think!

We officially have the visuals for the Chance the Rapper remix of James Blake’s hit, “Life Round Here.” The video features the two driving around in a drop top on a rainy day in the forest. Great song, and it’s absolutely awesome that these two are friends. Hopefully more music on the way.

James Blake released a remix of one of the standout tracks from Overgrown, “Life Round Here,” on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show today, featuring a verse from Chicago’s very own, Chance the Rapper. Blake is revered in the hip hop community, with the RZA appearing on his album and alleged production ties on Drake’s Nothing Was the Same. Check out the song below!
Fresh off of a sold out performance at Lincoln Hall the night before, Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook, and Martin Doherty, who make up the Scottish band Chvrches, performed at a sold out Metro Wednesday night. If you’ve been an ACITM follower, you know we are absolutely crazy about these guys. The band played most of their much anticipated debut album, The Bones of What You Believe, which is set to release on September 24.
