ACITM’s Top 21 Kanye West Features

I’ve been wanting to do this for months and I finally found the time to scientifically break down every single aspect of Mr. Kanye West’s music. Actually, after hearing Ye’s verse on “Birthday Song” I started to get sentimental about how far we’ve seen Chicago’s very own come. He was Common’s guy, Jay-Z’s guy, then blew up the hip hop world with College Dropout. From there we saw Late Registration, Graduation, a switch up with 808’s and Heartbreaks, one of the best rap albums of our generation in My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and the debut from hip hop mega powers Jay and Ye in Watch the Throne. He’s always maniacally dedicated himself to his own releases, and his genius has been responsible for G.O.O.D. Music taking over the game in recent months.

Without further ado, here are the 21 best songs that were not officially Kanye’s, that he ended up owning with a killer feature anyway. If you’re interested in downloading the feature, all 21 songs, head on over to our facebook page and be one of the first 50 to comment on the post. A surprise will then appear in your inbox (only if you already like our page!). Enjoy! Continue reading

Video of the Week: Flying Lotus – Fly First

Directed by Mark Zemel, we follow FlyLo along during performances at the Forecastle Festival in Kentucky to the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. Awesome visuals once again from the folks at Pitchfork Documentaries, and a dope look into the life of one of the most buzzed about producers on the scene lately. Watch below to see him hanging with his fans, hanging with Purity Ring, smoking weed, and talking about being a fan of Schoolboy Q.

Tracklist of the songs used in the documentary after the jump.

Chancellor Warhol – Artist on the Rise

It’s refreshing when a young rapper can bring something unexpected to the music scene; in Chancellor Warhol’s case it’s a fusion of hip hop and electronic rock. The Nashville-based rapper is an artist to watch, traveling through the summer’s biggest music festivals and working on a new project called Paris is Burning. Whether he’s spitting verses on a Lana Del Rey beat or debuting his new song South of France with Soda and Brad from Cage the Elephant, Chancellor Warhol is an up-and-comer with southern swag. Read on for his music, photos and an exclusive interview.

Light is finally here. Featuring collaborations with some of the freshest and best faces in Chicago hip hop… Kembe X, Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa, to name a few… Kami de Chukwu gets in on the action with one of the most anticipated mixtapes of the summer. He dropped “Home” late last night, and it’s been on repeat all day. The bar was set super high with that one, we’ll see what the rest of the mixtape has to offer.
