In town this Thursday is Brooklyn’s very own A Great Big Pile of Leaves. Fresh off playing 8 shows in 4 days at South by Southwest, the New York indie-rock band stops by Schubas Tavern with friends Mansions and Young Statues. With tickets only $8 in advance and $10 at the door, make sure to stop by at 9 for a night filled with great tunes from an up and coming band.
After touring with the likes of Hellogoodbye, Saves the Day, Motion City Soundtrack, and Say Anything, A Great Big Pile of Leaves embarks on their own nationwide tour just before the group sits down to record a new record (set to release Summer/Fall 12). Providing a hint of dance hall melodies throughout their tracks as well as finding the fine line between indie rock and pop music, the band is as close to a sure thing when it comes to great live music. Powered by Travis Barker-esque drumming from Tyler Soucy, Schubas is sure to be rocking Thursday night.
Tickets are available online here, or at the Schubas at 3159 N. Southport Ave.
The event is presented by the Keep a Breast Foundation, a non-profit organization aiming to help eradicate breast cancer by exposing young people to methods of prevention, early detection and support. For more information, check out their website, they really do put on some great events.
