Ride the buzz of your post Watch the Throne tour high to the Hard Rock Hotel Friday for the free DO 312 and Vitamin Winter Escape show. Featuring Chicago natives Smith Westerns with a mellow, indie-vibe as well as our new favorites Black Light Saints with a unique, booty-shakin’ sound, the Winter Escape is bound to be the perfect place for good music on Friday. Franki Chan, the Windy City Soul Club, and Kirby Kaiser fill out the bill. Did I mention there’s a free open bar? Show starts at 9pm. Interested? Thought so. Make sure to RSVP over at do312 asap!

Black Light Saints
The band’ s collaborative vibe is comprised of their mutual kick for getting down and having a good time–which is exactly what you can expect from their debut album, Impossible Picks (which is available on iTunes, and streaming on Soundcloud). The sky is the limit for these guys, and catching them at an intimate venue like the Hard Rock Fender Ballroom, before they set out for SXSW, should be a treat.
They’ve been rockin’ local shows for quite a while now, and Friday should be no different. Part postpunk, part new wave, part electronic, part disco, and part rock, the band comes together and typically blows the rest of the bill out of the water. They’ll get you dancing, and without a doubt the “Cattle Skulls” chorus will be imprinted in your head for the next couple of weeks.
Black Light Saints are Chicago. Don’t get left behind.
At only 19 years old, Kirby Kaiser is a rising star on the Chicago scene. Think the harmonies of a 50s/60s girl group with lyrics laced with teen romance. Music video below was directed, shot & chopped by Young Wonder.
