The early contender for the song of the summer sees Miguel (who I admittedly slept on in the 2012 Album’s of the Yearpost) teaming up with Mariah Carey, in her first single off her upcoming album. The video drops on American Idol tonight. Never thought I’d have a Mariah Carey song on here, but I promise it’s good.
The excellent new Justice live album, Access All Arenas, is streaming on Spotify right now. It’s an 80 minute set recorded at Nimes Arena in France last year. The duo reworks album tracks into an epic and visceral 14 song medley, seamlessly transitioning tracks from † and Audio Video Disco. Stream it on Spotify here and watch a recent documentary on Justice’s immense live show production. You can preorder the over on the Access All Arenassite. Tracklist after the jump.
The full version of Jay Z’s addition to the Great Gatsby Soundtrack “$100 Bill” dropped today. Full soundtrack comes out on May 7th, with the movie releasing May 10th. Don’t know which one we’re more excited for. Enjoy!
While posts have been at a premium lately here at ACITM, we always have love for Chicago’s very own, Chance the Rapper. The wait is over, Acid Rap is here and available for download below. Should the link crash, alternate DL links will be up fast.
We’re really excited about this project and couldn’t be happier for what’s in store for Mr. Bennett. This is a big moment in Chicago hip hop, with the nation going crazy over this kid. Sky is the limit. Enjoy!
ACITM where you at? MIA for a bit, traveling everywhere from Miami, Austin, France, Dublin, and Valencia. Back with the music video for A$AP Rocky’s Skrillex produced banger “Wild for the Night.” The video features the boys spending time in the Dominican Republic, riding mini motor cycles through the streets, walking around with strapped 8 year olds as protection, and playing the track for the DR crowd in a small venue, a size neither have seen probably in years. Awesome video, wonder what the budget was on this one. Watch below!
Chance the Rapper drops the latest single from Acid Rap, with video included, called “Good Ass Intro.” A soulful mixed house-bounce euphoric, proclaiming Chance is back “Even better than the last time.” We’re counting down the days for this thing to release. Listen and watch below, enjoy!
Closed Sessions is awesome. The label is owned and operated by Alexander Fruchter, rubyhornet founder, and Michael Kolar, the Owner/Chief Engineer of SoundScape Studios. They continuously bring together the best in Chicago hip hop, this time linking up Closed Sessions artist Alex Wiley with Kids These Days supaMC Vic Mensa, all over Chuck Inglish production. Made before kick off the the Super Bowl, you can check out a documentary about the pairing after the jump. Enjoy!
Lupe took to twitter to release “Light Blue,” a track made just for practice, like a gymnast or piano player would do, said Fiasco. Forget about all the controversy surrounding the Chicago MC and we see he’s a damn good rapper. Stream and download the track below.
This production is insane. Brought to you by NYC producer Harry Fraud, who on Friday will be releasing a mixtape called Adrift featuring the likes of Mac Miller, French Montana, and Bronsolinio himself. Beats like this are perfect for Action. Enjoy!
