The early contender for the song of the summer sees Miguel (who I admittedly slept on in the 2012 Album’s of the Year post) teaming up with Mariah Carey, in her first single off her upcoming album. The video drops on American Idol tonight. Never thought I’d have a Mariah Carey song on here, but I promise it’s good.
New Yeah Yeah Yeahs… featuring a 20-person gospel choir. The first single from the bands upcoming album Mosquito, “Sacrilege” sounds great, mixing in the classic feel of Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” with a touch of Karen O’s love crossed whispers. When asked about the new album, Karen said, ”We would love for this music to make our fans feel something, for it to stir some shit up inside of them, whatever that may be… So much feeling went into this record, it was the rope ladder thrown down into the ditch for us to climb up and dust ourselves off.” Well, do you feel something?
