Kendrick Lamar kicks off his new tour with fellow TDE Black Hippy members ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Ab Soul, tonight in Las Vegas at The Cosmopolitan and concludes on June 26th in Arizona, and unfortunately there is NO Chicago stop. At least we have Kendrick at Lolla.
BUT WAIT. There’s a remix in this promo video and UOENO it!
The promo video comes with a Black Hippy remix of U.O.E.N.O., featuring a Schoolboy reference to Rick Ross’s infamous “molly” line and Ab Soul taking “the game by storm just to X-Men out.” It’s not the Kendrick/Yeezus rumored track, but this just might be better. Full tour dates after the jump. Enjoy!
It’s refreshing when a young rapper can bring something unexpected to the music scene; in Chancellor Warhol’s case it’s a fusion of hip hop and electronic rock. The Nashville-based rapper is an artist to watch, traveling through the summer’s biggest music festivals and working on a new project called Paris is Burning. Whether he’s spitting verses on a Lana Del Rey beat or debuting his new song South of France with Soda and Brad from Cage the Elephant, Chancellor Warhol is an up-and-comer with southern swag. Read on for his music, photos and an exclusive interview.

Lollapalooza has left the city and summer is slowly winding down. September is a huge month for album releases so I guess that isn’t too much of a bad thing. As always keep sending music our way, we love hearing what are readers are creating/listening to. Enjoy!
Lorine Chia – Living in Vain (feat. Chance the Rapper)
It’s going to be a non-stop music weekend, and why not start it off early with this week’s “Week that Was.” Here’s a playlist to listen to in between the stops to all the Lollapalooza pre parties, after parties, and Lollapalooza itself. Enjoy and stay safe this weekend! Tell all the out of towners you meet to check out ACITM!
The best weekend of the summer is rapidly approaching, and we’re here to help make it that much of a better experience. Last year we recommended Local Natives, Black Lips, Kids These Days, The Vaccines, and the Naked and Famous to name a few, and they all delivered. So here we go again; the Lolla Must Sees, outside of the headliners that you already have on your schedule. Think of this as your what to do before 8 PM.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday must sees after the jump!
The best weekend of the year is FOUR days away. On Friday, Grant Park will be transformed into a giant music venue as fans and artists will fly in from all over the world for Lollapalooza. With over 160,000 people estimated to be in attendance, there are bound to be some serious people watching opportunities. As you’re creating your custom Lolla schedules and RSVP-ing to the best Lolla after-parties this week, we’re here to help make sure you also look your best this weekend both at the fest and at the after-parties (in case you run into Frank Ocean at Buckingham Fountain on Saturday night).
The homie Michael Dejaneiro dropped the video for “SummertimeChi” today, and it’s right on cue considering all the senseless violence happening around Chicago lately. Make sure to check out the video below, but more so make sure to listen to the lyrics. #inrodwelust. New music from Kids These Days (their new album is going to be insane), Crystal Castles, sbtrkt, and others round out the rest of the Week that Was, which features 11 songs for the first time ever. As always, keep sending us music! 4/10 songs featured today were either user or artist submitted. Enjoy and spread the word!
Electronic music legends Benny Benassi, Afrojack, Wolfgang Gartner and the much loved/hated Skrillex will make their way to Chicago for a weekend of dance music on June 16th for The Spring Awakening Music Festival. The festival, taking place at the massive Soldier Field, will also feature Diplo and A-Trak- two dj’s that I especially can’t wait to see. Check back for a full preview of artists in a few weeks. In the meantime, be sure to get your tickets here.
