This week’s “Week that Was” featuring up and coming rappers and bands with a lot of buzz. Away from our lives for quite a while, WTW is back and geared to make you smile! Oh boy, I haven’t posted in a while. Corny rhymes will stop right there. Enjoy and let us know what you think!
While posts have been at a premium lately here at ACITM, we always have love for Chicago’s very own, Chance the Rapper. The wait is over, Acid Rap is here and available for download below. Should the link crash, alternate DL links will be up fast.
We’re really excited about this project and couldn’t be happier for what’s in store for Mr. Bennett. This is a big moment in Chicago hip hop, with the nation going crazy over this kid. Sky is the limit. Enjoy!
Austin Vesely and Hannibal Buress linked up to create the visuals for Chance the Rapper’s latest #AcidRap single, “NaNa.” They received 5K from Jash, the web based YouTube comedy channel, to create a video. They ended up spending it on a chicken costume, lunch with Childish Gambino, and a couple of fly red and blue suits. Check it out below and enjoy! April 30th!
Chance the Rapper drops the latest single from Acid Rap, with video included, called “Good Ass Intro.” A soulful mixed house-bounce euphoric, proclaiming Chance is back “Even better than the last time.” We’re counting down the days for this thing to release. Listen and watch below, enjoy!
More hip-hop than you usually see on the “Week that Was,” thanks to some strong features from Chance the Rapper, Action Bronson, and Kendrick Lamar. AlunaGeorge keeps cranking out awesome tracks, really setting themselves apart from the rest of the music world. I am dying to see that duo live. Make sure to check out more of Hundred Waters and Ghost Loft if you get some time, the remixes here don’t completely do the bands justice. Expect big things from them. Keep sending new music! We really appreciate it, and love hearing new things. Enjoy!
“Seppuku” dropped right after “Acid Rain” last night, and it was quite a follow up. Produced by Nez & Rio, the track features SaveMoney’s finest, Chance the Rapper, Kami de Chukwu, Vic Mensa, Tokyo Shawn, and Caleb James. We’ve featured the groups work before (constantly actually) and they all seem to be getting better with time. Jump on the SaveMoney bandwagon ASAP, it’s getting pretty packed on here. Kami and Chance seem to pair up seamlessly, would love to see a joint tape between the two. Enjoy!
Seppuku - (切腹, “stomach-cutting”) is a form of Japanese ritual suicide by disembowelment.
