Milagres, the five guy band from Brooklyn, continues their US tour by making a stop in Chicago’s Schuba’s on Sunday. Their latest album Glowing Mouth released last September is an indie pop compilation with a hint of funk. Read on for how the album came together- it is a story worth telling.
Lead vocalist Kyle Wilson went on a mountain climbing trip in British Columbia and suffered a fall. Much of the album was written during Wilson’s recovery. What was produced was a sound with an authentic charm.
Milagres has been compared to artists from Prince to Coldplay, but I’m excited to see them live on Sunday to formulate my own opinions. Artists Reds & Blue and Leaf Boards complete the bill for Sunday’s performances. Show starts at 8pm, and you can get your tickets here. We’ll see you there.
